So Lebron James tells his hometown that their relationship is over, leaves the Cavs and takes his talents and Hollywood dreams to LA to play for the Lakers. In the world of basketball this is for sure the story that everyone is talking about, but back home in Boston it’s something different.
Celtic nation I’m not going to waste your time! Flat out, the pressure is on for the Celtics to not only get to the finals, but to win and to contend for years to come. No excuses! Here are my top reasons why. (No order)
3:(Lebron is out of the way)
You can’t discount the consecutive trips to the NBA Finals by Lebron led teams. He’s now in the Western Conference where Lebron and the Lakers will have to fight with the likes of Golden State, Houston, OKC and more. The East is for the taken.
2: (The kids have grown up)
Young Celtics like Jaylen Brown and Jason Tatum grew a set over this past season. Their maturity on and off the court is impressive. I expect nothing but greatness from them the moment the first jump ball happens in October.
1: (Healthy Living)
The Sixers are trusting the process, the Bucks are athletic and Toronto had the best record in the East last season. However, the Sixers and Bucks couldn’t beat the undermanned Celtics in the playoffs and Toronto’s heart is questionable. All the Celtics have to do is remain healthy! As of today, the team is solid and that’s without seeing what they can look like with Gordon Hayward and Kyrie Irving leading the way.
The pressure is real, but the Celtics have everything it takes to deal with it! If they fail, they won’t be able to make any excuses.
